  • Khatera Yusufi – Journalist, TV-Presenter, producer, Womens`rights activist
  • Khatera Laily Yusufi has studied TV journalism, media studies, production technology, oriental studies and dramaturgy.
  • During her studies she took on assignments as a TV presenter at gala events and at festivals.
  • The versatile presenter with multilingual presentation skills was awarded “presenter and media face of the year” .
  • Khatera Yusufi recieved the title of Dokhtare Shaayestae Afghanistan because of her commitment to social matters in Afghanistan, her work for the promotion of culture and for intercultural exchange.
  • Professional speech training and coaching in presenting from media specialists contributed to her success.
  • Khatera Yusufi learned her journalist’s ABC from well-known journalists, producers and experts in Germany where she studied TV journalism, media studies, production technology and oriental studies.
  • She has worked as a presenter for several tv channels such as German tv network Sat.1, CM-TV, at gala events, in a talk show with celebrities from the media, at talent shows and music festivals.
  • She has a talent for languages and have a good command of German, English, Persian, Urdu, French and Latin.
  • In 2006 Yusufi was choosen as the speaker of the international seminar by the Afghan Embassy and the Aina Afghanistan Foundation.
  • In 2008 she hosted the CD Awards presented by EPAA in cooperation with USAID/ASMED and the Afghan Embassy.
  • The talented young lady performed in theatre plays like Bert Brecht’s “Threepenny Opera”, Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and plays by her director and theatre coach Dr. Faust.
  • She worked as a human rights activist together with former European Commissioner Emma Bonino who had been in charge of the Humanitarian Office and has since been supporting human rights organisations such as the GfbV, Freundeskreis Afghanistan e.V. and UNICEF.

  • Even before September 11, Khatera, as social activist, tried to raise awareness of terrorism with action days and demonstrations and she criticized the West’s indifference to Afghanistan.
