The Budda-Statue is the work of art of the well-known artist Ustad Wakil Ahmad Nashat, the candidate for the reconstruction of the Buddha Statue in Afghanistan and member of the organization Culture-Mirror-Afghanistan
( Aynae-Farhang-Afghanistan ).

Worth a total of EUR 10000 to the winners, the Carpet Design Awards (CDA) took place for the third time under the umbrella of DOMOTEX HANNOVER.
A total of 148 carpets were entered from ten countries (Germany, Iran, Canada, Switzerland, USA, Austria, China, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Morocco).
EPAA in cooperation with BMZ/GTZ and USAID/ASMED supported participation of 28 Afghan carpet traders/producers for the first time at Domotex in 2008.
The carpet design awards 2008 was presented to Afghanistan for the frist time.
The Ambassador of Afghanistan in Germany Prof. Maliha Zulfaqar opened the international exhibition at domotex and emphasized
the partnership of Germany and Afghanistan in her speech at the "Afghan Night" which was hosted by Khatera Yusufi. ( watch video of the gala on the "interviews/videos" site )
